McLennann County Restland Cemetery Burials
Waco, Texas

Many of the people killed at Mount Carmel in 1993 are buried here. Several survivors refer to the cemetery as a pauper’s cemetery. It is directly southeast of Oakwood Cemetery in the city of Waco. To access the plots go to 9th street near the intersection of Martin or Holt Avenue and you will see the chain link gate, painted silver as of 2015. Floyd Houtmann is buried in row 6. Others who were killed are buried in rows 7 and 8. Catherine Matteson, who died in 2009, is buried in row 18.
